Share your Work on SlideShare and LinkedIn

SlideShare is the world’s largest community for sharing presentations.
SlideShare is the best way to get your slides and documents out there on the web, so your ideas can be found and shared by a world-wide audience.
With SlideShare,
- Individuals and organisations can upload presentations to share their ideas, connect with others, and generate leads for their businesses
- Anyone can find presentations on topics that interest them. They can tag, download, or embed presentations into their own blogs and websites
SlideShare supports PowerPoint (ppt, pps, pot, pptx, ppsx, potx), OpenOffice (odp), Keynote and PDF format presentations. SlideShare also supports document formats such as Microsoft Word, Excel sheets, OpenOffice files and text files.
This guide outlines the process of uploading a PDF document.
Choose your Content
The way I do this is to copy a post off my blog that I want to upload to SlideShare and paste it into Microsoft Word,

After doing any necessary tweaks, I then convert it to PDF format so that everything is locked into place nicely.
Convert to PDF
To convert your Word document into PDF, you will need a PDF converter.. I use the free version of PrimoPDF. Download and install this now..
Now that you have installed a PDF converter, go print your document as normal,

When the print dialog appears, select “PrimoPDF” as your printer, then click <OK>,

The PrimoPDF dialog will now appear.. select how your want your PDF to appear (I choose Prepress which outputs the highest quality).
Once you are done click on <Create PDF>,

Your document has now been converted in PDF.
Upload to SlideShare
Login to your SlideShare account (or create one if you haven’t already).. then click on Upload,

Click on <Browse and select files>, then find the PDF you created earlier,

Once you file has uploaded, fill out the details relating to this file.. then click <Publish>,

You will see the following,

Shortly after (you may need to refresh depending on the size of the document) your document will be uploaded,

Done! You have successfully shared your document to the world. Just repeat this process for all other documents and presentations you want to share with others.
People who view your uploaded documents can email to their friends and colleagues.. or even embed it in their site. This is a fantastic way to get your content out into the web and to increase awareness of your work. It will also increase traffic to your site.
Step one is now complete..
Step two involves enabling SlideShare on your LinkedIn account.. so that your shared work is visible to everyone on the LinkedIn network.. further enhancing awareness of your presentations and work and increasing traffic to your blog!
Add to LinkedIn
Login to your LinkedIn account and click on Applications,

Select the SlideShare application,

Click <Add application>,

Click on here to link your LinkedIn and SlideShare accounts,

Enter your SlideShare username and password.. then click <Link to SlideShare>,

Your LinkedIn app will now be synchronised with SlideShare,

Click on Refresh until you see the following,

Done!
Your LinkedIn and SlideShare accounts are now linked and in sync.
View SlideShare presentations in LinkedIn
To view your SlideShare presentations in your LinkedIn profile click on View Profile,

Your SlideShare presentations are now displayed in your LinkedIn profile,

Everytime you upload a presentation to SlideShare, it will automatically appear on your LinkedIn profile as well.
By integrating SlideShare and LinkedIn you can reach more people in different networks and increase awareness of your work, brand and website.
