Lazyfeed is a new service that pulls in information from various places around the web, such as twitter, blogs, social networking sites, etc.

Unlike traditional RSS feeds, Lazyfeed’s content is based on tags and topics and is displayed to you in real-time. All the content is fresh and continually streams in.. the feed updates in real-time based on the tags you specify.

Overview

Once you have logged in to Lazyfeed, you will notice that the interface is divided into three main sections.

1. Live Update – The Live Update section displays updates on anything you are interested in. These topics are added by clicking on the <Save> button whenever you find something new in Lazyfeed.

2. Browsing Screen – This section is the main part of the page and displays real-time feeds based on the topics you select. You can view a page by directly typing in a topic from the internal address bar, or by clicking through links and tags from within contents.

3. Status Bar – This section runs along the bottom of the page and is where your saved stuff and topics for lazy me are located.

Hot Topics

The Hot Topics section located at the top of the browsing screen when you first login.

This displays a compilation of the 10 most talked about topics on the web right now. At the moment you can see that Bill Clinton is the most talked about topic at the moment,

Click on Bill Clinton.. this will display a new page in the browsing screen with real-time stories that have been tagged “Billclinton”,

You can read the post by clicking on the title,

Or if you want to visit the actual site of this story, just click on the visit this page icon to be redirected to the external site,

The hot topics display is updated every 10 seconds.

There are indicators to show whether a topic has risen (green arrow), fallen (red arrow), remained (dash) or new (new entry) since the last update,

Searching

To start getting live Lazyfeed updates on topics that interest you just type in something of interest in the search field at the top of the page.. then click <Go>,

Just like with the hot topics above, the real-time results are displayed for that topic,

Related Topics

After search for a particular topic, you will also be presented with many related topics,

Selecting any of the related topics will display real-time posts with that tag.

Saving Topics

To save a topic just click on the <Save> button,

This saved topic now appears in your Live Update section,

Just repeat this process of saving all your favourite topics,

Your saved favourite topics can be deleted at any time by clicking the delete icon,

All your saved topics can also be viewed and managed by clicking on the Saved stuff icon in the status bar,

To view any of your saved topics, just click on it (as explained above).

Real-time Updates

When Lazyfeed detects a  new post on the web with that tagged keyword, it will advise you that update is incoming,

The new update will now be displayed on the top of the list,

New and updated topics will continually stream in.. with each new feed being placed at the top of the list,

Topics for Lazy Me

You can have topics streamed to you in real-time from your nominated favourite blogs, favourite twitter accounts, delicious and flickr. To do this you need connect up your favourite sites.

To add your sites to Lazyfeed, hover your mouse over My Account in the status bar at the bottom of the page, then click on Connect a Site,

or, click on Topics for Lazy Me in the status bar,

Then click on <Connect a site>,

Select the sites you wish to connect to Lazyfeed.. I am going to add Twitter first,

Enter a Twitter Username then click <Connect>.. just remember it can be anyone’s twitter username,

Just repeat this process for your Flickr and Delicious accounts (if you have them)..

To add your blog just enter your blog’s URL then click on <Connect>.. once again you can any blog here,

Twitter topics with hashtags will be streamed into your account,

Flickr photos with matching tags will also be streamed into your account,

Delicious bookmarked tags will also be streamed into your account,

Any blogs that you have connected up whose post’s are tagged with the same keywords you’ve saved.. will also be streamed into your account,

After you have connected all your sites, you will be notified in real-time of any updates that match your favourite topics,

To view any of these new topics, just click on them as mentioned before.
