How to get the affiliate code to promote our eBooks
Here is the process for getting the affiliate code you need to use to make sure you get the commissions you deserve.
Once you have signed up and logged into e-Junkie, click on the Affiliates tab,

Click on the affiliate admin link,

Click on the Get Affiliate Code link,

Select The Social Media Guide from the drop down menu and click the Get Affiliate Code button,

You can get your link from one of two ways.
1. The common affiliate hop link: Use the code provided there, and you’ll send all the people who click it to a general page on The Social Media Guide which lists all of our products. This is a good option if you want to highlight the full range of our ebooks so they can decide which is right for them. However I don’t find it converts as well as the second option – promoting ebooks specifically.

2. Get product-specific affiliate links: This drop-down menu will let you choose which ebook you want to promote. Choose the one you want, then click “Get affiliate code,” and it’ll take you to a page that displays that code.

This second option generally converts best, because you’re able to promote a specific ebook that’s relevant to your audience’s particular needs.
Whichever option you choose, e-Junkie gives you some HTML code that you can copy and paste into the blog post in which you’re promoting a product. The code isn’t perfect for every situation, as the call to action is “Click here for further details,” but you could change that to something else to suit your post.

The URL part of the code that is given can also be used to link our banner images (or it can be tweeted, shared on Facebook, or emailed).
Do keep in mind that our best-converting affiliates don’t just use banner ads in their sidebars—the best conversions come from a more specific promotion, either through writing a blog post about the product (a review), through tweets, or through emailing a list with a recommendation or review. These more personal recommendations of specific products convert a lot better.

A few tips from what others are doing
My main request is that you keep your promotions personal, relevant, non spammy and non hyped.
In analyzing the affiliate sales figures and watching the different approaches that people are taking so far I make the following observations which I hope might be helpful:
1. Those doing the promotion via email are converting best. While blog posts and tweeting the offer are also converting it seems for this promotion email is king from where am sitting.
2. One of the top affiliates has included a bonus for anyone who buys the book. This has converted very well.
3. Most of the top affiliates have all given quite personal recommendations that show that they’ve read the book and have been quite heavy on talking about benefits of the book as well as ‘talking me up’ as the author.
4. There’s been quite a bit of promotion on Twitter – this has been surprising in how many sales it has driven yet it is very much for a few minutes after the tweet. Those doing best with Twitter are tweeting during peak times and doing multiple tweets over a number of days to reach their full network
5. Multiple promotions seem to be working well – what I mean by this is that one of the top affiliates has posted on his blog, emailed his list and has done a few tweets. They didn’t all go out at once but over 3 days. This seems to have reinforced the promotion to his readers and alerted different parts of his network to it.
